Hi ive been with my gf who is an international student for 2yrs but we have been livin together for a year now. I want to sponsor her as common law partner but the problem is she recently found out that her schooling cannot be paid for the upcoming semester of january. Would this be problematic if i do apply to sponsor her? Can anyone help me out please i do not want to start the process the wrong way

Why can't she?

Is she here to do a degree or something else? In theory though, it shouldn't matter but she should doublecheck the expiry of her study permit, aka how long she is able to stay in Canada legally.

yes she is doing a degree programme and she cant pay because of unforseen financial issues..Her permit is expiring in 2017

Once she stops attending school for more than 90 days - her student permit will no longer be valid.

If she is going to stop attending school she should apply to change her status to visitor so that she can remain in Canada legally.

Oh really wow i had no idea. Can I just put in the sponsorship application before the 90 days are up?..
