sponsoring my Dauther

I recieve my citizenship last May of 2008, i never kne i have a douther back in the philippines i was fighting for it for the last 12 years. finally her mom is willing to sponsor my dauther ? and i was reading few forums but im not sure if i cant sponsor her she's 12 now..would i be able to get her and which status or application will i start??

Did you receive PR and land before or after her birth? What year did you land in Canada for PR? Have you declared her in any documents since realizing you had a child?

i was landed last 2006 i didnt know she was there until she was 3 years old my girlfriend keep it for a while from me.. and for the last 12 years i was begging her if can sponsor my dauther which she finally agree this year for my dauthers future.. i got citizen last 2008 my ex wife didnt include her that time.. now i have family and 3 kids,house ang my dauther shes 12 years old now..

You can try. Believe this would be an H&C case because once you don't declare a child you don't have the right to sponsor them. It does seem like you were in contact with the mother and this was not a case where a child was born as a result of a one night stand or mother moved away before she found out she was pregnant. You should consult a good lawyer about the best way to try and do this.

what do u mean by H&C case?? i have contact since i found out 9 years ago sending money etc2 but this year she finally agree and willing to be with my dauther..

I’m confused. How did you get citizenship in 2008 if you just landed as PR in 2006?

The child would have been born in 2006 correct? Was the child born before or after you landed?

she was born in Oct 12 2006 i arrive in canada july of 2006. i didnt know she was pregnant when i left. maybe i was wrong whith the year when i get my citizenship maybe it was 2009 or 2010 but i can double check my citizenship cert.. it was my ex wife who file the citizenship i just sign it that timeand the relations was mess..

You should be fine. She was not born yet when you landed so she is not excluded. You just need to write a good explanation of the timeline from when you found out and all the details. Use the link I posted earlier to guide you.

You may be asked to provide a DNA sample. Would be good if the mother of the child can write an explanation that she really did refuse to let the child be sponsored previously.
