Hi all,
My wife and I are permanent residents since 2008. I have a child who was born in 2009 in the USA while I was working in the USA and never followed my child's immigration stuff in Canada since I was not residing in Canada at that time. Now, we have returned to Canada (last month) to re-establish our residency in Canada as I got a job in Saint John. The immigration officer at the border (Ottawa international airport) granted my child a temporary visitor status (form imm 1442) until June and told us that you need to apply for your child to become permanent resident too.
I am so confused of what is the right process to this and what are the forms that I need to fill for this purpose.
Please advise!
Regards.
