I have a second cousin that wants to immigrate to Canada... She came on January 1, 2012 for three months... Can we do all the work from here or how does it work? Any help would be appreciated...

So you are a Canadian citizen and you want to sponsor your second cousin?

This will not be easy. Federally you can sponsor your parents and dependent children and orphaned nieces and nephews under 18 or one other relative if you have no close relatives in Canada and no other relatives elsewhere that you could sponsor. That means you can't be married, you can't have any children and you can't have parents alive and then you can sponsor your second cousin.

Another way to sponsor relatives PNP in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. You must have lived there for at least a year but I think 2nd cousin is not related enough. Usually they name aunt, uncle, niece, nephew or first cousin. If you live in one of these provinces, you can ask the PNP if it is an option.

One more way to help your cousin immigrate would be to try to help them get a job offer so an employer can either help them get a work permit or sponsor them to immigrate through PNP. If your cousin is under 35, they can apply for a working holiday visa in Canada, see http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/germany-allemagne/experience_canada_experience/index.aspx?view=d This is an open work permit which would allow them to come and try different jobs and try to build a relationship with an employer who will sponsor them for a regular work permit and help them immigrate.
