I am a PR in Canada for the last two years. And been separated from my husband for longer. We do not intend to live together or stay married for more than a couple years or until he gets his PR. I want to apply for his PR and once the application is submitted, I want to get an affidavit of separation right after. Will it affect his application if we get legally separated once it's submitted. By the way, in banks and etc I still write my mari

What’s wrong with you ? Seriously. What is wrong with you ?
To come to a site where individuals are seeking help with legitimate immigration issues , and you come along on how to use the system fraudulently
It’s called immigration fraud. And don’t say you’re just “ thinking about .”
You should be ashamed of yourself

As others have said, this is fraud. Expect problems for you and for him if you try this.

Well, if you do manage to follow through with your patently illegal plan, I certainly hope your ex makes use of all the social services offer and you get the bill. It should offset the financial benefits you recieve for your fraudulent activities. A jail sentence for you would be a nice bonus as well.

Immigration fraud: read carefully

Can we be less harsh? Some people are ignorant of immigration laws.

It is better to inform and hope it is lack of knowledge than to wish financial and freedom (jail) punishment.

Gee, let’s see....ignorance of the law isn’t an excuse. I stand by my comments. And perhaps, just maybe, if they are Not ignorant of the laws, they may garner a better understanding of what’s at stake.

Well, thank you all for the response you each gave. No PR for him or my status here is meant to gain social services. I'm working a full time job in a well reputed firm and he has businesses back there. I'm still not sure if we'll get divorced. But there are people and things that bind us and it will be easier for us if he can access to me and the people that are between us without applying for a visitor's visa each time. Before being so harsh on people, always imagine they might be fighting a fight that you know nothing about. We are separated and we may reconcile or we may divorce. But in any case I won't be able to cut off entirely. And if he can have easy access and longer stay durations here will be easier for us both. The guy who is just jumping on neck for my question, I imagine if I he could he would stab me with a knife. His answers reflect his anger

FYI, I can pay all his bills and he can pay mine. And I came here with equity and bought properties. And if he wants to come he'll come here to start a business and benefit the economy. We might not be living together and can not work to live together but he's not a bad man, neither has bad intentions and can benefit this country in many ways. If we can find a way for him to immigrate easily and with my help would be better. Otherwise he can come through investors visa and go through the whole process but as I am here and we are still married and don't know indefinitely about what we are going to do about our marriage yet, I'd want to help him get a status here easily so that as I said, separation or divorce or reconciliation, he can have an access to his ex and the family members that he'd need to see without hurdles. And I won't have thought of it, neither had himself to get PR,but this year when he wanted to come see us, due to Covid-19 he was told visitors are not allowed to travel.. the status can come handy when emergency situations arise

Travel restrictions have eased up as such that immediate family are allowed to enter. Must quarantine for 2 weeks. You might want to look in to that.

Also, sponsoring him for PR is one thing. But he also must maintain his PR by certain obligations. More often than not, visitor visas are issued for 6 months. It sounds like you guys are pretty much financially independent so he wouldn’t need to have PR to work as he wouldn’t need to work.

I’m concerned that your plan could come back and bite you, down the road. If the government see this as fraud and misrepresentation, you could end up in huge trouble and lose status in Canada. Think really hard about this.

You would need to fully reconcile and spend significant time living together in order for you to be able to help him get PR. This would have to be a genuine reconciliation. Otherwise any attempt by you to sponsor him will be immigration fraud

If you want to try to sponsor him, IRCC will want very strong evidence that you have truly reconciled. If you don't have this evidence and if you haven't truly reconciled as a married couple, don't even try to sponsor him. If you try to fake this, then expect him to be refused and he may also end up being banned from Canada for five years.

Don't mess around with the rules and try to cheat the system. All this will do is create problems for you.
