Sponsoring a Child without other parent consent? Please help.

HI, my legal husband in the philippines and I have been separated for almost 6 years now and havent heard anything since then. We have a son who is now 9 years old and which I am planning to sponsor, I dont know where the father is right now and I know that if I am to sponsor my son and the Father is not in the application to migrate here in Canada I need to get him to sign a form " Declaration from non accompanying parent/guardian for minors to immigrate in Canada". The father abandoned us since 2011 and no way of contacting him at all. I mean I tried and I would love to get in contact with him for the speed up of my annulment case for him as well. Please help. Any advice will be appreciated.

You will need to go through the courts to obtain full custody of the child.

I had to go back in the Philippines to file for a petition for sole custody for my kids. It took me almost 2 years to get the decision. I know it takes time but this is the only option that you have since you won't be able to locate him and sign the Declaration of non- accompanying parent. All the best!
