Hello! I have read some PR application and pregnant posts already and just want to see some more recent opinions about it.
Is it of any consequence to apply as a basic couple even if we are expecting? We would only have to update CIC upon birth?
There would not void our application in any way?
Thanks for any input!

Thanks!
I was worried because I saw that someone here applied for PR and was accepted but he applied as a single and then got married (or actually WAS married at the time of the appl. I should read it again...) And it seemed like his only solution was to give up his PR and try again. It got me worried about status changes!

The situation you mention is a common one, where a person applies as single, but gets married sometime before getting PR. That person then lands with their COPR and visa that state they are single. As a result, their spouse is forever barred from being sponsored.

Applying while pregnant is not a problem. You MUST notify CIC when the child is born. If the child is a citizen by birth, then the impact will be minimal. If the child needs to be sponsored, then you will need to update some forms and do some other things.

Thanks Miles away and happy holidays...
Yes, that single/married change of status after the application did worry and confuse me, but I think I see why it is.
No more worries! We will just live our life and wait for the green light ;D
