Hi friends, my sister sponsored my parents' and brother's application in june 2007 for calgary alberta. Its supposed to take 38 months for the whole process. But its been 40 months now but we hvnt recieved a single letter from them, application status doesn't show up either if i try to check online. I dont know how to contact call center from usa, my sister is hesitant to call them...what should i do?? i think we cant email them either?? is there anyone who sponsored their parents around same time too?? Thnx in advance!!

I can't help, but those who can might need to know more details (processing office, date applied, what correspondence has been received.. Ect)... Remember processing times are guidelines and each case is unique... Good luck

it was applied in calgary alberta on june 27 2007, for new delhi india. They only have a receipt for proof. They said we were supposed to receive some paper or letter after 26 months....but it has been 40 months now.

You supposed to send it to Mississauga and not Calgary.

Mississauga normally sent AOR (Acknowledgment of Reciept) within 2-3 months, and then after 30-18 months you get approval as a sponsor.
After that your parents have to fill rest of the forms and sent it to New Delhi including the Sponsorship approval letter. In New Delhi, it takes about 2-3 years for processing.

The Complete process is about 6 - 7 Years.

But first you have to make sure, where did you sent your application initially. If Mississauga, then you should have received AOR.

If you have sent your initial application to Calgary, then i am not sure what will going to happen. You may have to start all over i don't know.

If your sister sponsor your parents, then CIC will not give you any information about the file/case. Your sister have to contact them.

From out side Canada. You can reach Foreign Affairs at +1 613 944 4000. They will connect you to CIC. BUT CIC will not give you any information on behalf of your sister unless she has sign you as her representative.
