hello experts
Can anyone give me advice about the following point on the IRC website?

If you’re applying for permanent residence and you’ve authorized your sponsor to act as a representative on your behalf, we’ll send all correspondence about the application to the sponsor.

Does it mean if I am sponsoring my wife, then my wife has to fill out the form (Use of Representative IMM5476) for me to authorize me for receiving emails and communicating with IRC??

YES but have her fill both 5475 and 5476 too. Then you are in control of all correspondence

Thanks a lot, sweet singleman!!
Actually, when I downloaded country-specific documents, this form IMM5475 is not showing up. Further, if I see in the documents required for sponsorship, it is also not there. This means I can download it and then include it to mark in the checklist. Hopefully, it will not disturb IRCC.

Keep in mind that if you ( the Sponsor ) act as the Representative using IMM5476
Then as an " unpaid " representative you will not be able to use online accounts.
Only authorized paid representative can link application to their own online account.

You will have to rely on emails and the online status tool.
https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do

Also, do not attempt to link your application to your personal online account if you have appointed a representative.
If you have appointed a representative and attempt to link your application to your own online account,
you will have to cancel your representative before you can link.

I didnt do any of that. Once you get the AOR your spouse will open an online account with her email and details.Once she `ll give you the password you will have full access and can monitor the progress together (she will be the one who will get the emails who will notify you of any account messages) that will save you all that extra paperwork. It worked pretty good for us.

That depends on some factors like what country the PA is from.
Maybe no access to Google or online account at IRCC.
Then the " Use of Representative " for the sponsor or paid representative is a more viable option.
What works best for you?
