Hi,

Does the sponsor needs to provide bank statements in the package? If yes, then is it mentioned in the checklist?

What all other documents to be provided?

Thanks!

the required documents are listed in the checklist. i suggest reading the checklist and guide thoroughly for answers to your questions.

Hey, I couldn't find any where written for the sponsor to send bank statements in this checklist!

well then, if it's not on the checklist, it isn't required. there is no minimum income requirement to sponsor a spouse, so there is no reason they would require bank statements from the sponsor.

But someone said to send it. I am confused now.

who said it? are they applying to sponsor their spouse with the new application package? did they say it was REQUIRED or are they suggesting you send it to strengthen your applicaiton somehow? if it's not on the required list on the checklist, sending them is NOT required.

it really sounds like you are not familiar with the guide or checklist. you will greatly benefit from reading them thoroughly and multiple times. this is essential to understanding the application and process.

well that should tell you something right there.

i'd recommend going by the official checklist created by IRCC, not a random person in a whatsapp group you don't even know is actually going through the spousal sponsorship application process themselves.

Got it CDN. (y)

You definitely do not need to send in bank statements with your application. However, some applicants and sponsors do so, if they are worried that the visa officer will not believe they can support themselves without welfare. For example, if the sponsor does not have a job, they might decide to show their financial assets to prove they can support themselves.
If the sponsor has a job, and there is nothing in your application to make the visa officer think you won't be able to support yourselves, sending in bank statements is not necessary.
