Hi
Can I have your opinions again, pls?
I am PR living in Canada and I want to sponsor my elder child, currently living in Thailand to become PR and come here for study. I plan to submit application in 2 weeks from now as I have already completed 797 days (as of now). Believe 60-70 day buffer beyond 730 day RO should be good enough??? But fyi I was warned at the airport for RO breach on my last entry back in Jul 2014 since I was away for 4+ yrs. In fact I am going renew my PR card around the same time as I begin PR sponsorship as well.

So I plan for her to come to Canada around May next year and begin her grade 10 study in Fall. So I think I will need to get her a student visa while PR sponsorship is ongoing since PR sponsorship process takes longer than 1 year.

My questions are

1.Will there be any issue for her to get a student visa while PR sponsorship process is still ongoing? However fyi I got her a visitor visa already just to ensure she can come to visit me, but don't think I can use it for study.

2.Inland (13 months) vs outland (16 months)
Seems like the only option for me now is outland as my child is in Thailand., correct? But what will happen when she comes here next yr on her student visa to begin the school. What if CIC calls for an interview back in our Thailand or processing centre i.e. Singapore? Or do I have change to inland processing when she is here?

3. My wife and my younger child will still be in Thailand until they're ready and I will begin the process later, apart from my elder child sponsorship. But I notice that processing time is 28 months for spouse vs 16 months for dependent child. So in this case, spouse and child in same application how long this will take?

fyi, my wife and my elder child were PR, but they have renounced it when they applied for visitor visa. And now all of them have visitor visas.

Thanks

You cannot change an outland application to an inland one: all you would be able to do would be to cancel the outland one and start a new inland application. However, children are sponsored outland in any case. She can be here on a visitor visa or a study permit and still have an outland application in process.

No one knows for sure how long the process for your wife and other child will take. I would assume that CIC would process them together so that they would be approved at the same time.
