Hi everyone,
I have a question that I haven't found an answer to in any pervious threads.
My Application for Permanent Resident that I submitted under the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class is currently being processed. I have received my OWP, AIP, and SA, and I have passed my medical exam. The CIC is currently processing my background check, so I should hopefully land any time now.
Anyways, a volunteering opportunity abroad has just popped up for my sponsor, where he would stay in Bolivia for 12 months, working as a Marketing Advisor for a Bolivian company. I would remain in Canada and keep working at my job until he returned. He would only leave Canada to pursue this volunteering opportunity AFTER I have landed, as the sponsor must live in Canada while the application is being processed.
If my sponsor leaves Canada after I have received my PR status, does this have any consequences for my PR status or future citizenship application?
Any insight would be helpful. Thank you!
