My partner is a permanent resident (been living here at least 15 years) and not a canadian citizen.

Is it true that my partner (the sponsor) has to stay in Canada during the application process, regardless if it is inland or outland???

I understand, as an applicant, I have to stay in Canada if I choose INLAND.

IF it is, then we will have a problem because he goes to conferences abroad at least twice a year :(

Please enlighten me on this one. thanks!

he can go on work trips and short vacations. as a PR himself, he can't LIVE outside of canada during the process, meaning he can't go away for months at a time.
