People in their 50s and 70s just cannot be expected to be as healthy as racehorses. However, Canada does not admit immigrants with serious medical conditions since they could burden the system. I'm not thinking whether they're healthy today but in three or four years. Am I confident they will be as healthy as they are today? Not really. Should we refuse sponsorship for that? Definitely not. Maybe a check-up or a
cognitive test would be a much better idea to start off. It is recommended that immigration officials do a better job of considering practical health issues based on age.
