I am trying my luck with PR in Canada & hope to get job there once I get PR. Beyond this dream, I am thinking to sponser my mother once I start my job in Canada. I am clueless how to start looking for that option & have few questions; please share information on same, if you have;
- Can I sponser my mother once I get PR or I need to wait to be Citizen of Canada?
- In case, I am not eligible to sponsor her on my PR status; can she stay with me on vistor visa or any other visa for longer period?
- In case, I am eligible to sponsor her on my PR status; then where can I get more information for same?

thanks & regards...

You can sponsor her when you are a PR once you have earned the Low Income Cutoff figure from Canadian sources. It is doubtful that she could remain as a visitor for the processing as, the first stage is 33 months and then there is the overseas processing. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/08-fc-parents.asp

The information you want is at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/relatives-apply-who.asp

Low Income Cutoff - does it mean that earn at least minimum income in Canada set by law.
