I am in complete shock.. My application was received in Mississauga on Friday..(yes! last Friday Nov 23) and today I received AOR and Sponsor APPROVAL letter .. an astounding 6 days! I have checked the emails about 10 times just to believe it's true...

Wow congrats,

6 days is fastest I have ever heard off. At least you can have a nice Christmas and not have to worry about stage 2 until the new year.

Congrats again!! :D

congratulations! That's freaky fast!

Congratulations..!! It's really fast.. However this is the way it should be..

January, February and March 2012 applicants suffered a lot. These months CIC's approval was around 120 days.

Wow that is a record. For the first half of the year anything before 60 days was considered fast.

:o
We are sending ours out on Tuesday, so fingers crossed it gets processed quickly too. ;D

Thanks guys! There was also another November person whose application was received on the 23rd that got their Stage 1 approval yesterday as well. It looking like things are moving along really well in Mississauga... now let's hope Ottawa starts to clear out their backlog!

*gets out ticket book*

Do you know how fast you were going?

Congrats!!!!!

I was part of the March batch!! SMH.

6 days is a miracle!

Mine too, received in exact 6 business days (Mailed the app on Monday morining Nov 26) . I received the approval letter , but did not receive the AOR.
Can anyone explain to me, What AOR is and is it important to receive it? Should I make I inquire about it?
Thanks

I think it stands for acknowledgement of receipt. Some do receive but some don't. It is the way we know that our application is in fact in the hands of CIC. If you have received approval, AOR does not matter at all. Congrats to you!

AOR is Acknowledgement of Receipt - so it's when CIC opens your application... but if you got the sponsorship approval, then you don't need the AOR... not everybody gets one, and the lucky applicants get the approval right away without news from CIC! :-) so well done, and welcome to stage 2! there is a thread for november applicants if you want to join, http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/november-2012-applicants-unite-t123516.210.html

Congrats on a fast first stage, and good luck for the rest of the process!

Thank you AnaMaria.

I was shocked when I received the email from CIC-M; I was not expecting it until mid January or so.

Thanks guys
