Sponsor a Family friend PLEASE HELP

Hi,

I came to canada 5 years ago as an exchange student. ive had a gf here for 4.5 years now and have
bin coming back here ever since.
since i want to move to canada, her famliy said they would sponsor me. however i havent seen anywhere on the
internet that you can sponsor a family friend (non-family meber).

my question now is, will this still work? can they still sponsor me to come to canada?

if you've been a student in canada, you can apply yourself for PR right? in the Canadian experience class ?

Normally you can not be sponsored by friends but I think the provincial nominee program in MB allows 2 friends to sponsor under family stream so if that is where they live, maybe that is what they mean.

You could also marry the girlfriend and she can sponsor you.

There is no "friends" nomination in any of the PNP programs.

I checked and it's not actually under family stream, it's under general stream

To be eligible to apply under the General stream you must provide one of the following:

* proof of a close relative in Manitoba *
* two affidavits of support (MAS), each completed by a close friend or distant relative in Manitoba **
* proof that you have previously worked full-time in Manitoba for at least six months
* proof that you completed an educational program in Manitoba of at least one academic year (excluding language-training programs)

they live in bc, so i guess thats not going to happen. im applying for a job now and then try it with the work visa. and then go from there. i guess thats my best bet here. any other ideas how i could make this work?

If marriage is not on the table, then job offer and work permit are definitely an option. If you are skilled and can get a skilled job offer, you may be able to apply for your immigration directly via BC PNP or through FSW category 2.
