would you explain, how long does it takes the sponsorship application of spouse lives in Cairo- Egypt from the date they receive till the end of process to be completed ? and if these is any advice to expedite the process ?

Hi Adam,

Each application is different so it will depend on your circumstances. Check CIC's page for current processing times.
I sponsored my husband from Cairo and it took about 1.5 years, but this was during the time the visa officers where on strike and things moved very slow.

Processing times for sponsorship of spouses, common-law or conjugal partners and dependent children applications states that:

The tables below indicate application processing times at Canadian visa offices once Step 1 has been completed. The times are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all cases between January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014. Processing times are subject to change.

Step 1 is currently 62 days for Outland (this number goes up and down during the year).

Step 2, the Cairo Visa Office is currently taking 20 months to complete 80% of its cases. So that doesn't mean that it will take 20 months exactly, but if your case is not too difficult, it will probably not take more than that time (and generally less).
