hello
i sponsored my husband (living in Pakistan) in July 2013. i got a letter after a month that i m eligible for sponsorship now file is being transfer in Islamabad Pakistan. Then after one more month i got one more letter from embassy says that Due to some technical issue we are transferring you file in London and this letter replace previous letter. can anyone tell me why it happened? and now whats going on?

Yes, this is a quite normal procedure that has arisen recently. For some odd reason, new applications aren't directly going to Islamabad. They are being detoured to London. What is the exact reason?, no one really knows. It is yet to be seen if London will start to process the applications or if London will be used as a holding ground.

Volume, of parents/grandparents/spouses, Isbad is now a single persons only posting, no families, so it hard to get FSOs to go.

At the time my file was submitted (Nov 2011), there was a CPP in Ottawa that overtook some files from Islamabad, now I guess the London Office is overtaking some files. They will most probably do like Ottawa, where your paper file is transferred to London and then London takes it to a certain point and transfers the e-file back to Islamabad. Again, don't know for sure, but it may be like this.

(one more thing i m Canadian by Birth. Is it really Good impact on File?)

does the file going to london lessen the procedure time and how long do you think it may take for my file do be completed it has been 6 months already??

I would highly encourage you to apply for visit visa.

Im also a canadian by birth. I've been stuck for 24 months.

There is no harm in trying to apply for visitor visa. That said, the success of getting it is rather low for 2 reasons. 1. There will be more ties to Canada than to pakistan through Canadian spouse. This issue will be minimized assuming Canadian spouse is still in pakistan with spouse. And 2. You submitted PR papers that indicate to CIC that you have no intention of leaving Canada since you are now applying to stay permanently. Visitor Visas are meant for temporary visits, not to enter and stay permanently.

If CIC has any doubt that you will not leave Canada, CIC will not give you one.

it takes them anywhere from a month to 3 months to reply....

we all go through that, CIC is just doing its job, yes its frustrating waiting months, years to be reunited with our loved ones, but in the end Allah made the choice for us to marry someone in our home country and not someone who is already in Canada. And remember that Allah's decisions are better than our wishes. So while waiting, each day I say hamdulillah for giving me strength and teaching me patience. It really does make it easier to just accept it and know that in the right time things will happen, than to fight it and build anger within.
