I actually have a question. I want to sponsor my Aunt who is my dads Sister. I am a Canadian citizen and my husband is a landed immigrant. I have sponsored my husband . My aunt who is in Pakistan was born with one leg and was never married. My question is if there is any possible way i can sponsor her . She is about in her 50's and i am 22 years old. There isn't really any one to take care of her. I would greatly appreciate if someone could give me any information about this.

Its sometimes not fair but you cannot sponsor your aunt :(

From the CIC website of who can be sponsored:

You can sponsor:

-parents
-grandparents
-brothers or sisters, nephews or nieces, granddaughters or grandsons who are orphaned, under 18 years of age and not married or in a common-law relationship
-another relative of any age or relationship but only under specific conditions (see Note below)
-accompanying relatives of the above (for example, spouse, partner and dependent children).

Note: you can sponsor one relative regardless of age or relationship only if you do not have a living spouse or common-law partner, conjugal partner, a son or daughter, parent, grandparent, sibling, uncle, aunt, nephew or niece who could be sponsored as a member of the family class, and you do not have any relative who is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident or registered as an Indian under the Indian Act.

Even if my whole family is here ? I don't have another family back home to sponsor ? Or if possible could i apply for a visa for her to come visit ?

Excellent advice from kelkel.

It doesn't matter if your whole family is here. Your aunt is not eligible to be sponsored through the family class. But yes, she could apply for a visitor visa. However, remember that a visit has a beginning and an end. It is not a permanent arrangement and CIC will only assess the application positively if they are convinced 100% that she will return to her home country after her visit. Would she potentially fit into the Federal Skilled Worker program or another of the economic classes?

I suppose you could sponsor your mom and dad, and they could in turn sponsor your aunt?

No, that wouldn't work. The parents can't sponsor a sister , unless she is under 18 and an orphan.

Try H&C class. It may or may not get accept. But its worth a try.
