Spellings Contradiction....need a WAY out........?

Dear Seniors; Need your help & guidance.

My spouse's brother has PR status & is currently living in Canada. Now the problem is:

My spouse used to spell her Father's name as "Faheem" & these are spellings available on her educational & birth certificates. But all other members of her family including her father use "Fahim".

To prove relationship of my spouse & her brother, I am using their birth certificates & facing this contradiction of spellings. But apart from this contradiction, favourable thing is that National identity Number of their father & mother is same on both certificates.

Kindly advise, should this spelling contradiction is a big problem or ID number would work fine? Is there anyother way out??

Sending a letter explaining the reason for difference along with an affidavit should serve the purpose.

But what reason should i give? Mentioning that it was my Spouse's choice to use "ee" instead of "i" since pronounciation remains same in either case, does not make any sense........

By the way, kindly suggest what should be written in the affidavit?

Please state the the name was written by mistake by local authorities and in the affidavit mention that both the names are of one person only and attach the document along with the affidavit for the name which you want to be considered.
