I m going to land in Canada very soon. What type of questions an IO ask please mention here. Also what sort of documents are required at the port? I have the required funds as well as the permanent resident application form which I need to show and sign in front of IO. But still I don't know what else I need.

Thanks in advance.

Viru, IO would look at your passport & COPR, ask you for your address in Canada, about POF and then you will be asked to sign on COPR at 3 places. That is it! He/she would tell you that now you are a permanent resident of Canada and would welcome you to Canada.

Thanks for the reply.I want to carry the required amount in the form of $CAD banker draft, not cash. Is that acceptable? The reason if i lose the cash i will lose the whole amount. However, losing banker draft can be replaced.

Many thanks.

Dear...pls bear in mind if u wish to deposit DD in any Bank in Canada, it would take minimum 21 working days to credit to your account. It is better to use alternative means like travellers' cheque.

As mentioned by seniors the best thing to do is take about 20% as cash or TC to get you started and rest as DD so you would have some buffer before your DD is cleared.
