Hi friends. I have a question. I applied alone in July (timeline in signature) I got my AIP, and it took a long time, and I did not get an update after AIP.

On my GCMS note, All steps were passed and only my PPR was not started yet.

Now, after passing more than six months, our situation was changed, and my wife is close to graduation (she is a student). Then, I want to add her by webform to my application.

Is it possible? How it can affect the final decision? Veterans, please help.

Hello,

Since every aspect has been passed, it MAY only tarry your application. As a lor of things might be reviewed and reassessed, taking your funds into consideration here. It may be recalculated if you still meet the financial threshold as PA and accompanying dependent.

It may just be better if you allow your application play out. Thereafter, you can sponsor your spouse through SOWP route.

Best of Luck

Thanks for the answer. If I wait and get the result, and Then, apply for my spouse, can I apply for SOWP before entering Canada? Or should I apply after entering Canada? Would this be very long like the current timeline? Or we can expect a faster decision? (Since now, I am waiting for more than 6 months).

Processing will be long and you probably will not get an approval or refusal at the same time.

There is not fast track for your spouse’s permit. Expect about 6-8 months or more. You can apply before entering Canada.

Hi Naturgrl. Thanks for the answer. Then, what do you think about adding my wife, now by a web form? Is it possible or not?
Can you even add by webform? Don’t you need to complete the work permit application which is usually submitted at the same time?
