My wife had LMIA supported closed work permit and I landed with her on a spousal open work permit. After almost 5 months i found a job and i'm looking for way to convert my status from Spousal open work permit to a regular open work permit. I'm trying to understand what are my options here.

Have you applied for PR through an economic immigration stream and has your nomination been approved or have you received AOR?

I have not yet applied for a PR. I'm trying to understand what all options i have to maintain my own independent stay here in Canada

You can't.

can you share more details on the process, how to go about it and what all documents are needed
that post was by a spammer. Don't click.
I don't think there is such option unless you meet the requirement of OWP under some very specific condition.

Try to answer some of these questions (if you want to apply on your own, you are the principle applicant)
Find out if you need a work permit - Canada.ca

I think most that get OWP are young people from specific list of countries:
Work and travel in Canada with International Experience Canada - Canada.ca

As of now you don't qualify for an independent OWP. You have to remain on the SOWP.

If you apply for PR and your application is accepted, that will change.

Another option is to have your employer obtain an approved LMIA so that you can switch to a closed work permit.

Not possible. The person who posted this is a scammer/spammer.
