SOWP for husband while applying PGWP

Hi everyone,

My husband is on SOWP until Mar2024. I need to extend my study permit because earlier visa was issued until march 2024, instead of April 2024 due to passport expiry.

1) Will his SOWP also renew when I extend my study permit for one month? Should I include him as dependent study permit extension; or first extend my study permit and then extend his SOWP.


2) Once extended. My study permit will be expiring in Apr2024; My husband’s SOWP will also be expiring same. Now, while applying for my PGWP. Should i include my Husband for SOWP as well in that same PGWP application or;

3) I should first get my PGWP and then apply for his SOWP.

I am doing a warehouse worker job with around $18 an hour. Some people have mentioned that the refusal rate will be high as i am not doing NOC B job while applying for his SOWP.

I read the old posts in this group, but did not match my criteria. Plz guide

1. No, SOWP is always a separate application.

2. When I applied for my PGWP, I included my wife's SOWP application, together with my son's visitor record. All three applications were approved together.

3. If you first get your PGWP, and your spouse's SOWP expires, he needs to apply for a visitor record and cannot work. You need at least a NOC B job and 3 paystubs to be able to apply for SOWP again. So, better to apply for SOWP when you apply for PGWP.
