SOWP Extension (ICT TEER 2) – Both Permits Expiring Together Due to Passport, Apply Together or Wait?

Looking for advice or similar experiences regarding SOWP extension under the new 2025 rules.

Situation:

• I’m on an ICT work permit (TEER 2) issued in 2024
• My spouse has an open work permit based on mine (SOWP)
• Both of our permits were shortened due to my passport expiry, so they now expire at the same time (June 2026)
• Have already renewed passport
• We are also in PR process (AIP)

Concern:
With the recent rule changes, I’m worried about how IRCC is handling spousal extensions when both permits expire together.

If I submit today, processing times mean my WP extension likely won’t be approved before expiry.

Questions:

1. Has anyone in a similar ICT / TEER 2 situation successfully extended SOWP recently?
2. Is it better to:
   • Apply both extensions together before expiry, or
   • Apply my WP first and then submit spouse application while mine is still in process?
3. Are officers accepting applications where the spouse’s eligibility is based on a pending WP extension + employer letter?
4. Does having AIP for PR help at all in this situation?

Any recent experiences (especially post-Jan 2025 changes) would really help.
