Sorry...Cannot say as i myself have never done that...

Any other forum member who knows or may have the experience with please help!

CIC needs your funds to be immediately available. Thus, PF is a source of fund, which can be withdrawn at any given point of time though up to a certain limit. Next are your bank accounts and fixed deposits [except the 5 year tax saving ones] are also valid POFs.

Even investments in debentures/stocks are accepted by CIC

Were you asking or saying?
Whatever...NO, not at all.

I have sold some gold jewellery that I had and have the amount deposited in bank. I have the purchase receipts and sale receipts for the same and the bank statement also reflects the same. Will that be accepted?

I know that...Please read it again, that last topic is for "How much money should you bring?" to Canada and not for PoF. There is a difference.

I'm posting your earlier response for my post:

Debenture/stocks are volatile assets - their value changes over time - cannot be used as POF. Can be taken to Canada after one has got PR though.
