Dear Friends,

One of our friends has decided to accompany his son who has just completed age 16 to study in Canada. He has obtained an offer letter from a Canadian college. He has now wondering whether he can apply for a visa to go with his son. I am kindly requesting to help on this matter by our forum members. Which application he has to fill in? Does he need to provide two separate applications?
Your reply will be of great help.

Thanking You.

1. he will have to apply for a TRV (visitor visa) if required on his own. IMHO I don't think he will be successful in getting a TRV and be able to stay in Canada long term while the son goes to school.
2. Note that as the son is under 18 he will need a guardian appointed in Canada, if the father doesn't get a TRV.
