I work as a senior data analyst so selected code 21223 - Database analyst and admin and got ITA now. I confirmed with a consultant and also checked with chatgpt and gemini as a strong match. But Claude points out another NOC 21221 as a match. Now I am confused, can someone help with this situation (any data analyst here?)

Below are my duties:

Responsible for evaluating assets eligible for Tech Refresh by leveraging Python programming and SQL database skills to track asset data, optimize refresh cycles, and predict future needs based on historical trends.
• Designing and optimizing Power BI dashboards and data visualizations that harness sales and marketing data. The dashboards support the sales planning team in setting future sales targets, forecasting buyer engagement across various regions.
• Collaborating with cross functional teams to transform Excel reports into interactive Power BI dashboards, streamlining data analysis and significantly improving team performance and ease of use.
• Accountable for cleaning complex datasets, sizing assets and loading them into backend databases using SQL to ensure accurate and efficient data management process.
• Implementing ad-hoc data analysis and presenting the insights with the leadership team to guide sales decisions and sales performance thereby driving business growth.

Not a consultant, just my take from looking at both NOCs. Your duties are more data analysis than database administration. 21223 (Database analysts and data administrators) focuses on database design, maintenance, security, and performance tuning. 21221 (Business intelligence analysts) focuses on designing dashboards, analyzing business data, and presenting insights to leadership.

Your Power BI dashboards, sales data analysis, and presenting insights to leadership all point more toward 21221. The SQL and Python work is a tool you use, not the core purpose of your role.

That said, you already got your ITA with 21223 and a consultant confirmed it. Both are TEER 2 so your points don't change either way. If you're worried, you could send a brief webform noting 21221 as a closer match, but honestly with this much overlap between the two NOCs it's unlikely to be flagged.
