We got our stamping done in April 2010 as such we are on the verge of running out of time to fulfill 730 days test and seriously we have to be there before April 2013 for an uninterrupted stay of 730 days.
My family consists of myself and my son and wife. My wife is in not in position to move for some social obligations here in India. Does it advisable that myself and my son should go and stay there and obtain Canada citizenship in 3 years.
In that case my wife will be loosing her PR Card but Will I be able to bring her back to Canada on the basis of my citizenship ! Is it advisable and generally within how much time such cases are dealt with. I am in total fix and need some serious guidance.

It will take you more than three years to obtain citizenship. Expect closer to five years. First you will have to meet the residency requirement for citizenship by living in Canada for three years out of the last four. Once you submit your application it will take approximately 2 years to process (assuming there are no complications).

If your wife loses her PR status then you will be able to sponsor her through family class once you meet the residency requirement for PR (i.e. once you have lived in Canada for 730 days out of the last five years). How long it will take depends on where she's from. Processing times are provided below:

If you want to keep your PR, you should at least come and stay for 2 years in order to retain the possibility that at least you will keep your PR status and can sponsor your wife and son later.
