My son and I both live in Canada and I have a valid study permit. 3 months ago I applied for a VR for my son but it has not been approved and now both his study permit and visa have expired over 90 days ago. Since he is planning to go back to his home country for summer vacation, I am going to apply for a student visa for him now. The question is: his current immigration status in Canada is "student" or "visitor"? What is the expire date of his current status? Is it the same as the validity period of my study permit?
