Greetings, I just created an account. I am looking forward to the invaluable advice and experience of members and staff of the forum.
I have some questions regarding spousal sponsorship, my situation is rather unique of course and really, I am just planning ahead to the future.
Anyways, here are the first wave of questions I’d like to ask.
I am a Canadian citizen, looking to potentially sponsor to sponsor a future spouse.
Questions to Ask:
Q#1 – Regarding proof of Relationship to Sponsor
If we are planning to get married here when she visits again for a long time, and then we begin the application for sponsorship so she can get her PR, is she considered as “currently living together?” or not?
Q#2 – Regarding proof of Relationship to Sponsor
I am currently still living at home with my folks, I do work however.
If my spouse lives with my folks and I as a visitor, how could we prove her residency is in our home since most of the utilities bills are under their names and I simply give them money?
We wouldn’t have any plans to move out immediately until she also finds work.
Q#3 – Open Work Permit
It says on the form: I am also including an application for an Open Work Permit with my application.
So after getting married, and being inland, can she apply for an open work permit immediately, and is that application independent of the permanent residence application?
Q#4 – Inland Application?
Does getting married and applying for PR as a visitor mean the application is an inland application?
According to this: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/visa/validity/inland.asp
It seems she would be, and if so, how long is she allowed to stay during the processing of the permit/PR? Does it mean she has automatic extended stay until a decision is made?
Q#5 – Proof of Relationship – 10 Pages Maximum
For the maximum pages for proof of contact, what is the best way to organize these? We have known each other for over 13 years but many of our correspondences (text messages, etc) are gone. She has numerous letters and gifts from me from throughout the many years; I have one written letter from her and some simple gifts. The real question is, how should the 10 pages be organized? I have only just recently started to save the whatsapp messages we have mostly relied on to contact each other, whereas in the past, most have been deleted long ago (never considered to back them up throughout the years, never thought about these things).
Thank you,
-G
