I'm applying via Abu Dhabi VO, here are specific document checklist: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/uae-eau/assets/pdfs/visas/53_1_eng.pdf

1. In the study plan they ask: "What research have you done into studies in your country of residence/citizenship?"

I don't understand this question?

2. THe masters program would require an internship off-campus, so when the application asks if I'm planning to work and apply for work permit, I should say so, correct?

3. Should I apply online or paper? I'm leaning towards online...

Sorry, but could you please re-explain that?

1. Did you have done any research for the course in home country , which you will study in Canada
2. Say No, I think internship is different than work permit.
3. Online

Double-check with other seniors.

Good Luck.

2. Write 'Yes' only if Co-op (internship) duration/terms are mentioned in your admission letter.
3. Paper. Your choice?

Well, here's the study plan needed:

Study plan
Please submit a one page study plan which answers the following questions and includes any other information
relevant to the processing of your application:
• Why do you wish to study in Canada in the program for which you have been accepted?
• What is your overall educational goal?
• Why are you not pursuing a similar program in your country of residence/citizenship?
• What research have you done into studies in your country of residence/citizenship?
• How will this program enhance your employment opportunities in your country of residence/citizenship?
• What ties do you have to your country of residence/citizenship?
• In the case of a minor applicant, what are your reasons for studying in Canada? What is your
parents’/guardians’ immigration status in their current country of residence?
• Provide details of your education history – dates when the course started and ended, the name and
address of the school, the course taken, qualification/degree/certificate awarded for the course

They already asked about similar program in my country. So maybe the second question asks for any hands-on research (lab)?

Guys, I'm really looking for an explanation to the bold above...

Also, when the ask for education history, they mean highschool also? I took online courses, 1 in java and another in sql, should I include those?

I hear your pain. They want to know why you have to study in Canada. You have to provide proof you have tried to find similar courses in your own country and been unable to. Why would someone want to study in another country and pay thousands more dollars to get same education available to them at home? You have to convince VO of strong ties to home (also part of showing you tried to find similar courses at home). Hope that makes sense.

thanks for the reply! There are no similar programs in home country and country of residence. I explained why chose Canada and what ties I have to come back to country of residence in other questions they asked.
