Soft landing during transit

Hi All,

I have a question regarding soft-landing. My COPR expires in Feb 2018 and I'm planning to travel from India to US via Toronto in Jan 2018. Can I complete the soft landing formalities during my transit? I have several hours or lay over at Toronto and wondering if this is possible. I'm planning my permanent move in 2020 and do not have a Canada address to send the PR card currently.

For PR Immigration, you can not do that in transit. You will have to go through CBSA and complete your formalities. You can put your friend's address for PR card delivery, do not tell your intention to CBSA officers.

Once you complete that, check in again and go where ever you want to go.
