Once an individual becomes a citizen, do they receive a new social insurance number or does it stay the same as the one they have had since landing? I forget if she would have received a new one after becoming a permanent resident?

Thanks,

Thanks,

I think it remains the same but I am not too sure.

SIN (as with most of our sins) is retained... no change

SIN changes when you become a PR and does not change when you become a citizen.

Only a temporary SIN that has a 9 in front is changed to a permanent SIN. This happens when you land as PR.
