Please give your best input. I have already submitted my application a few days ago, I am worried it might get rejected( my husband keeps telling me not to worry). I was in canada in 2010 with my now husband..overstayed and was working without a permit..I was told to leave for a year.( I do not have any records in canada or USA ).All my files with cic has my husbands name in it as him being my boyfriend and me staying with him etc.. I left in 2/2011 and started visiting again in 2012 once i was cleared. My husband and I got married in 6/2013. I am just worried that my app will be denied based on the past.

Your hubby is right. :) The sponsorship application is all about the genuineness of the relationship. Having a DUI or criminal record would be something to worry about not overstaying a visa.

Your main worry should be that if they asked you to leave and you didn't. If you left and were cleared to return as you say you were then there should be no issue. Having nervous attacks and "panic" moments are normal. Breathe deep, relax and have faith in your relationship with your husband. All will happen in due time. :)

In the meantime, don't be shy. Everyone here is very knowledgeable and most - like myself - have already survived the process! :) You'll be okay!

thank you guys for your response..I will take it easy and be patient.

i am so glad i checked your recent posts and read your story. i was issued an exclusion order in 2011/2012 and have since been back and got married to my canadian. i have also been worried my exclusion order would affect my application negatively...glad to see the advice on here says differently. have you received SA yet? if so, do you know which Visa office is handling your case? We also applied in march and are still waiting to hear about both, and i'm always nervous it will be kicked back to the states because of my history with CBSA! would love to hear your experience...

She applied after you and hasn't gotten her SA yet, I think. It looks like she submitted her application March 27th 2014. But I can't see why your application would get sent to the states based on an old exclusion order.

I know what you mean :) I was panicking for the first month and a bit waiting for my sponsorship approval! Everyday there was a new reason why I thought our application would be sent back, refused, denied.. haha. Everything will be ok! :D

Correct, my app was received march, 25th but no word yet. I am sure very soon.

haha... yep! sounds about right. we got a letter saying our application was incomplete and we forgot to include a form. i proceeded to have a meltdown and cried for 2 days! my husband was NOT impressed by my behavior, and does not like that I am on this forum. he finds it gives him more anxiety about the process. i tried to explain that it helps me to help others. i just keep reminding myself we did the best we could, and we will get through the process successfully, no matter how many delays we may encounter. if we can get through this, we can certainly get through anything!

This forum is both a blessing and a curse... There's so much helpful information here, but the sponsorship denials and the amount of panic over not having enough proof can really get to someone !

Yup! Am VERY thankful I didn't find it before we submitted our application. We may have ended up sending a "box" rather than an "envelope". (Not joking.)

Awww haha thanks! That's awesome. I try being positive especially on here to keep people's sprits up. No point being negative! :)

Sounds like a cute personality....... if I were the husband, I'd probably just chuckle... :D

Since you cried for 2 days for forgetting to include a form, I wonder how you'd react if you had to go through what I had to go through:
