Hi guys,
I plan to apply as a federal skilled worker( noc 2232 ). Here is my dilema, my wife is a canadian pr and my daughter is a canadian citizen.they both live with me in kenya( have been with me for the last 2 months, they recently came from canada coz the distance was straining on us). My daughter is 6 months old and my wife's pr card expires 2014.we want to settle in canada but we do not want there to be any distance btwn us.My question is,what happens if my application takes more than 2 yrs and my wifes pr card expires and what other options do we have. Also note that i graduate end of 2013 and will put in my app after i graduate.

In order to maintain her PR status, your wife must live in Canada two out of every five years.

To sponsor you through family class, your wife must return to Canada and file the application from there. She must then continue living in Canada while your application is being processed (she cannot live in Kenya).

If your application takes a long time to process and your wife loses her PR status, then you should add her to your application before you land in Canada and become a PR so that she can get PR status along with you.
