Hi
Could anyone get this straight out for me.

I applied for immigration(FSW with 86 points) in March 2009 from within Canada, and still residing in Canada on a work permit doing relative field job.
CIC website show 6-8 months processing times but I wonder why its taking so much time, I haven't got my medical asked yet.
I sent them an email asking the same, they say the reason is background check. Does anybody has the same issue? or it is the normal procedure.

If experts can comment on that. Appreciate it.

Hi Zawan,

Actually, i would like to help, but i see from your past posts some contraversy regarding the information provided by you:

You are saying now that you applied under the FSW on March 2009, and you have not got your medical request yet, when you have said in the following post that you applied on July 2008 and have done your medicals 3 months before that date ! :

Hi every one.

I applied for immigration under Federal skilled worker class in July 2008, my medial is done 3 months ago.
Now Immigration officer is asking me to present "Reference letter from current employer", but I am unemployed and looking for field job from last year.
Further more Immigration officer also threat me to refuse my application if I fail to submit the letter. I am puzzled, as this is not the requirement for immigration in FSW class.
Can any body please steer me in the right direction, I am running out of time.

Thanks a lot.

Could you please clarify, in order for us to help you !

I apologies for the confusion, the previous questions I asked couple months ago were regarding my friends' case who I was trying to help, and he has got the immigration.
Thanks

Regarding your question here (the background issue), i cannot give a definit answer because some people say that they get stuck with the visa office because of the background check after the medical request, and others before the medical request like your situation.

In your case, i think it is better that they have not sent you the medical request before the background check is done in order to maintain the validity of your medical expiry date and avoid the risk of redoing the medicals again if their background check takes one year or more.

Thanks alot my friend.
