Hi,

I am a Canadian Citizen and living with my family in Edmonton, Alberta. Me and my husband both do full time job here.

I want to bring my sister's family here and they are working on their skilled category PR but not yet submitted any papers. My brother in law is the main applicant and his consultant suggested him to get 7.5 band in IELTS but he got 6.5 and my sister, dependent also give IELTS exams and she scored also 6.5 band.. But now their consultant is saying that my brother in law must have 7.5 so he has to appear again otherwise he cant apply.

Does anyone knows if spouse IELTS score can also added to application or he must get 7.5 bands in the IELTS exam.

Thanks

The language requirements are CLB 7 in every section. That is, he needs a score of 6 in all four sections to meet the language requirements.

As to why this consultant is telling him to re-take the test could be due to the fact that he is not scoring 67 out of 100 points under the six selection factors in order to be eligible under the FSW program. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...election-factors-federal-skilled-workers.html

Also, he could be asking him to get 8 in listening and 7 in all other sections in order to have a competitive CRS.

The spouse can take the IETLS to help the main applicants' CRS and to help his eligibility.
