Thanks diyabrar. My wife said pretty much the same thing. I think I will go ahead now and send proof I am back in Canada. Simple and short. Glad they are looking.

Another worry I have though, everytime it seems an interview is required, they ask for something first, then like a month later, an interview letter comes. I hope this is just a standard question to help the vo check off on one of the many criteria they look at at the preliminary review. ECAS still shows application Received and I expect it to remain that way for quite some time.
Yes in all cases it's a good sign. Like you said, at least you know they are working on your application. My wife's application was received January 28 and still nothing from them, not even an acknowledge. I am still waiting for the GCMS notes. My wife sent them an email regarding the silence. Hope they will reply soon.

Are you applying to live in Ontario?

Oh well I just checked in my mail and realized I received an AOR February 23rd, hehe. I'd completely forgotten about this. But my wife hasn't received anything. Is it normal?

Johnnycage, yes, I'm applying for my wife to live in Ontario. I have sent them what they requested. My wife was very suprised. She said, "I have not got anything from them". Guess it's the way they do things now. We are hoping this request doesn't prelude an interview request. Keeping our fingers crossed.

Congratz maisha :)

I have a question in my mind. One of my relative sponsored his husband. their ECAS shows in process on July, 28, 2014. Decision has been made July 30, 2014 and also written they will contact soon with main applicant. After 10 days her spouse got passport request. what does it mean? because I saw in this forum, everybody gets passport request when still in process. after putting visa on the passport, they changed ECAS to decision made. Does anyone explain it please?

Thanks
Jannat

when the case is finalized and asked for the passport, it is most likely to stamp the passport with a visa. hope it helps.

Hi Jannat

Yes I got PPR a week ago.

And they asked to re-do medical within one month, Police clearence, 4 photo and 5669 and submit those within 60 days to SVO/VFS.

Already bribed Tk 1500 to the Police Inspector who came for Inspection for Police Clearence and waiting for Police clearence report.

Good luck to you all.

Shaw.

I have two questions. How do I write the form which came with passport request...by typed or hand written?

they ask on that paper ''How would you like us to return your passport?'' what should I fill up...by registered mail or visa application centre?
by the way, I wanted to submit it in VFS Dhaka office and to get it from VFS Dhaka too.

Thanks
Jannat

I was thinking if I did a landing in Dec and come back to Singapore after 2-3 weeks of staying in Canada. Will I get tax? I am thinking to quit my current job next year and planning to move over to Canada permanently in June 2015. Just wanna make sure I wont get tax by landing this year. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Yes I notice that the # of applicants have been going down lately year by year. Well good news for us I guess :p
But at the same time, a lot of people don't seem to realize 30 months isn't the average processing time, and if you have a solid case, then your time will be closer to around 10-12 months.
Yes, this seems to be the trend.. 10 -15 months maximum for spousal outland applications.. let's hope they dont exceed it.

Not sure about your tax question. Are you talking about income tax or tax on imported goods? I am sure when you land with copr in hand, you can declare goods to follow. Not sure if this is what your'e asking though.

Have you had A decision on your application?

Finally got news from the CIC office after multiple emails.
Dear Sir / Madam,

Thank you for your enquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in Singapore.

This application was received in Singapore on March 03, 2014.

Following an initial review, this application was queued for interview and is currently awaiting its turn for scheduling, based on the date it was received. The Interview Queue Letter was sent to you on August 01, 2014.

As taken from the Interview Queue Letter:

"Please be advised that applications which require interview fall outside normal processing standards. The current queue for an interview is approximately 24 months. While your application is awaiting interview, we will not accept, respond to, or attach to your file any correspondence, except: change of address or contact information, including change of e-mail address; change of immigration representative; change of marital status or family composition; request for withdrawal of your application."

*Please be advised that the queue for an Interview starts from the date the letter was sent to you.

Once an interview date is scheduled, the applicant will receive an appointment/interview letter approximately four to six weeks before interview.
Great.....

Ok! when ur file goes in process it wil mean ur interview is waived but till then there might be small possibility for interview....due to the fact that ur spouse applied for trv before marrage..(if iam not wrong)

The refused trv after marrage is not a red flag but before marrage is..

The only reason i brought this up is because i saw a lot of cases went for interview due the fact that the sponsored person had a refused student visa or trv on their records
as assumed! itz only because of the fact of refused trv b4 marrage...thats what i think...u should start gather proof and visit ur spouse often and send them additional docs...in some case the additional docs changed the mind of the vo and made them wave the interview at a later date..
