Hello Everybody,

After a very long wait, i finally got my passport request (and re-med + new police cert) - the question I have is this.

1. How long does it take to have your passport returned to you?
2. How long do you have after you get the passport back, to land in Canada? Wondering when I need to give my 30 day notice for my landlord, etc.

Our passport was received at SVO on March 13th, we received DM on April 11th and passport received back in Canada on May 1st
You will have 1 year from new medical to land or the expiry on the passport

Hope things move quickly now... which they seem to be... we waited 2.5 months after going in process before we received the passport request

No, not yet. But it looks like it could be another 3 weeks before they even send it back.

They said 30 days. So let's start counting.
But actually hoping to get it by last week of July. My spouse is expecting to travel in August

Good to hear good news. I am waiting for pp letter. mine went into in process same day on may 23rd.

11 weeks since submitting my passport, my status has finally changed to "Decision Made". Now another waiting time is counting. To my fellow applicants waiting to hear the good news, be patient and don't give up. Sometimes it helped not to take a peek on this site every day

Svo received my file 17month,after 17month they send me a letter that I'm on the interview list,anyone can tell me how long I have to wait for final interview date nd what I need to do now plz help me.

hey guys im just a bit worried about my case...as usually once one thing is over the next worry starts...dont want an interview with such a speedy office

I met my husband at university in India 2006. We started dating around 2 months into start of classes casual and the relationship grew from there ( I wrote it out in detail where our first date etc in the explanation part on a seperate paper). Got enganged Feb 2012, and married in oct 2012. filled for sponsorship now (long story) passed elligibilty. I have a plain ticket of the the trips i made to malaysia and the bali. Unfortunately due to utter crappy circumstances most of our pictures pre-ceeding 2011 were lost when i lost my hard drive and i didnt have it on my computer and my husband didnt have copies for himself i just stored it on mine,as a camera hog i took most of the pics n e way. and worse we had student phones hahah ie it can dial and it can msg but it does like nothing else so no pics!! EXcept for graduation and the graduation party pictures and the plain tickets and passport stamps of going and coming.... loads of wedding pics plus reception pics +wedding card and gift card of the ring he bought me etc.skype logs. We dont rly have phone chat records because we studied together and I didnt think at the time to get the phone logs of our 6 years of dating. my husband returned malaysia in march 2012 and i came in may to finalize wedding plans and then in oct for the wedding.since then iv been with my husband here for 2 yrs. Iv worked here and there and i have money in savings which i showed them and my hsuband is a doctor with steady income too. I didnt return to canada yet and i plan to in the up coming months which i explained to them . I just honestly said the waiting times are so long and it isnt easy to be apart from ones spouse right after a wedding for months on end while they "process" . Might be cliet ID's to them but were human beings as well!!!

anyway our honey moon and all the travels we did inbetween all the pics have been given. My only issue here is i didnt have much pics to give of our 6 yrs of dating (and trust me it saddens me more then them i lost my hard drive!!!)....any ideas if my case has any red flags to anyone?
oh yes and does my staying with my husband hurt my application? I showed emails of me talking to proffesors about my PHD, applications to university for masters, and WES application ( program that translates my degree to canandian equivalent) . I just dont have a job in Canada yet or a home of my own except my parents which i didnt put)....I did say i plan on returning before the winter of 2015....
