Hey Shiny88,

Thanks for your reply, I knew abt the GCMS just couldnt understand from the abbreviation. I will research and do it if needed, meaning if it is late, hopefully it wont come to that. Your story is very painful, let me be frank and ask you this, they say if your application is strong then it will take very short time to process and by the look of it u have a very strong and long relationship then why the delay? Did you try contacting the MP?

Here is a short version of my story:
Me and my university love and currently wife (Canadian Citizen) are living in Bangladesh. I was an international student in canada for 4 years (2006-10). Then I overstayed for 6 months and when i realized i came back to my country voluntarily. My girlfriend followed me to bangladesh and we got married in Bangladesh on august 2011. We have been through a very ruff 3 year relationship because of this immigration issue. I came back just a month before my graduation in 2010 and never was able to go back. So I missed my graduation ceremony, missed one last chance to see my Father in law to be (at that time) who died of cancer on march 2011 (when my girl was months away from her graduation living in Sackville NB when her parents were in Peterborough ON). i tried to apply for a tourist visa and another study permit but got denied, But they didnt flag me though. We have evidence of about 150 pages of facebook msg, skype conversation details, cell phone msg details, 60 photos etc which indicates our relationship since the very first day to present day (literally) along with all of our family. We also provided travel details of my wife and in law family's coming to bangladesh for ceremonies and to visit before our marriage, joint bank acc in bangladesh, house lease, proof of her's bangladeshi parmanent residency, my IELTS (7.5), mother in laws support letter etc. My wife is currently working in bangladesh as a school teacher and I am working for my family business.

Hopefully these are enough but if not i know that my wife would just go crazy and I thus perhaps i will understand the full severity of painful waiting time. I applied very recently on sep 11, 2012 so didnt get my AOR yet. we were married a year before that but just took a long time to make the papers ready also gives us a bit more time together as married couple before application (i think that will help, do u?). so thats abt it but hey there is a long way to go for me, so heartily pray and hope yours get done soon.
Hey Shiny88,

i just saw that ur medical is expired, i dont know if u have renewed it but this might cheer u up a little. i fund it abt a week ago.

if applicants medical is about to expire and that is the only reason an officer is holding onto your application or is going to ask you to provide more papers, then the officer by the new law do not have to wait for another medical he would just ask for a reassessment of the old medical and make it valid for another 12 months. In short if your application only needs a new valid medical report to be approved then thats ok you dont have to wait cause the officer is going to reassess that. here is the link that you can check

Your welcome. Yes you are right about an application being strong skip the interview process, but the thing is when i applied i was very ignorant. I didnt pay much attention to do the application as i was thinking am a canadian and i have right to bring my husband. I did so many mistake to send a quick application and now am paying for it. I didnt write descriptive details of my relationship but 2,3ssentences without explanation, couldnt include proofs of communication cuz at tht time i used calling cards too communicate (which is not a proof). I sent wedding pictures and wedding video(later i found out that they do not check electronic devices. Before applying i didnt do no research whatsoever its when i received the interview letter that really opened my eyes and realized that everything is my fault. So that is the thing=(

Well now i understand your story, well one thiing is good is that you waited after marriage to apply which shows that you are in a genuine relationship and living togheter. You have a lots of proofs and it is going to support your application for sure. One thing i think the visa officer willl wonder is if your wife will return back to canada once your pr is granted...did you write about your plan on the application?..Anyway i wish you th best of luck and hopefully you will have a very short processing time without interview.because the intervieww makes the process way way longer ,see just for a interview date a extra one year of waiting and still dont know how long left to receive the interview date..

Thanks about the info, but as it says if the medical is the only reason they are holding to give visa then reassess the old medical to make it valid 1more year but i think when it has already expired and theres still other stuff to go trough then they will ask medical again once they other stuff is done, like in my case after completing the interiew...

Mais dans la lettre d'interview, ils disent que les délais sont en dehors des délais réguliers... Je me demande si les sénateurs sont plus efficaces que les députés pour nous aider. Qu'en penses-tu?

Hey Everybody...

I am new to this forum, although I have been following very closely for a while. I'd like to contribute to the forum.

I filed the application to Mississauga on September 12, 2011. A year later, on September 11, 2012, Singapore changed the status to in process. A week later, my wife received mail requesting passport, photos, IMM 5669, and updated police clearance (no re-med request). Fortunately, we found out through our MP that her medicals were being requested for extension (via RMO Manila) as referenced by Smahmud's link. We were able to send the requested items to Singapore received on October 1st, 2012. So now I am in a similar situation as Kurt... hopeful for a Visa before year's end.

Once I figure out how to post the timeline on the left hand panel, I will post for your reference. In between the process, I have visited my wife twice, once for a month, and the second for 5 months. I sympathize with everyone because this process has been hell, as it has put everything on hold. I wish everyone good luck. And congratulations to Shaheenez!!

Hi,

This is Shaheenaz's husband. I have landed safely in Canada on October 9, 2012. I thank all of you who helped us by providing valuable information when we needed them. I would like to mention one thing that needs to be taken care of before you land is that please go over the details of your spouse once again so that by the time you arrive at a Canadian airport, you are ready to answer any questions that are asked by the immigration officer. I had to answer questions like, how long I had known my wife before we got married, where does my wife work and for how long, what was my occupation in Bangladesh, what is my wife's date of birth, what was her phone number and so on. Your answers sould be in line with what you have mentioned in your PR forms. Good luck to you all and thanks again. By the way, Canada is beautiful :). Just came back from Niagara Falls and the experience is mind blowing. You gotta see it to believe it!
congratulation
finally u landed. please pray for us.
