Hi everyone,

So my girlfriend got the SA email on September 19, 2016.

"You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent

Residence for your relative has been forwarded to the visa office in Ottawa for further processing. This

visa office was selected based on your relative’s country of nationality and the requirements of the

Immigration and Refugee Protection Act."

Apparently, my application is sent to Ottawa VO, is this normal? I am not sure if this is a good or bad thing. I do currently live in Canada though, maybe that's why?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, is there any validity period for the police certificates just as the medical one? I know we have to submit it within the 4 months of date of issuance when submitting the initial application, but how long is it valid after the submission? Thanks in advance.

If you have an interview you will be asked to bring a new one. Otherwise don't worry about it

I see. As I have lived in two countries during the last 5 years, does it mean that I have to bring new certificates from both the places or only from the curremt country?

If you haven't entered the previous country since your last pcc then you won't be asked for a new one. So just the current one. I noticed your time line says not asked until now.. did you get an interview letter?

Nope, not any significant update on my application or Interview letter. Actually I meant that I haven't been asked for or put in the que for interview untill now.
