Hey johnnycage, have you had any other document requests? Based on your gcms, are you going to send further proof, or just wait it out? How many assigned to, and assigned by do you count on your gcms???
I hope they see that an interview is not needed after all.

Koifish76, what do you mean exactly by "assigned to" and "assigned by"? Where can I find those? In which section? My notes are in French so I have to translate everything I get from here :p

Hi Karen :)

Welcome to this great forum!!

Without meaning to rain on your parade, I would say that it's too early to expect to get a passport request at this time, considering that you guys only submitted the application in July and got the sponsorship approval last month.

Just to give you an idea, my wife and I submitted our application in January 2013, and my wife got her passport request almost 13 months later, in February 2014...and I would say that my wife's timeline is more or less average (caz there are others who've got it much earlier, and also much later.)

But some people do get exceptionally lucky.....someone here by the name of MikeyMike is sponsoring his Vietnamese wife to Canada, and she got the passport request after just 5,5 months since submitting the application. So if you got as lucky as she, you can expect to get your PPR sometime in Dec 2014 or Jan 2015....but even if not, don't get discouraged as it is normal to face delays when dealing with the Singapore office... =P

Yes, under the principal applicant's name.

Even your GCMS note "possible waiver" section telling about the waived scenario. Most probably, second officer (other than the first one who wrote that note) deems the need of interview.
That's why, I think, you got a letter.

Gather strong documents referring to solid proof like phone bills, financial support, your boarding pass, e-ticket etc for the interview.

Personally, I think, sending extra documents won't change anything at this point but who knows, you may try.

I'm so sorry to hear that:at this point, stressing out won't help either. Please don't loose your mental strength and we all pray that your spouse will be with you soon in canada.
Thanks for the wishes DrmBig. Back to waiting... Hope your spouse get his/her passport soon too!

Anyone's status got changed to "In Process" from "Application Received" in September. Was wondering if they slowed down this month.

Hey guys, I have a friend who got blacklisted from Malaysia due to overstay, but since his case is being processed in Singapore even though he applied from Malaysia before getting blacklisted, does it impact his case or will they say anything when he submits his passport for Canadian visa?

Hi MK88

For the answer of your question, best would be, to go personally and talk with Malaysian Police officals who issue Police Clearence certificate.

Guys, any comment on this will be greatly appreciated.

My wife's file in in Singapore since March and I am waiting on the next stage. Currently it's at application received status. My wife resides in Bangladesh. Her uncle in New York listed my wife's family under family immigration a while ago and it is in the queue. It takes several years for that to be completed. My understanding is Canadian immigration has nothing to do with that even though they share information. What do you guys think?

Oh and I wanted to mention she was granted UK visa last month with no question asked and I met her there. Do you guys see any potential red flag for interview. It's our first marriage with 5 year age gap (32 and 27) and we provided sufficient evidence from multiple wedding events with all family presence and evidence of Malaysia honeymoon.

Shaw.
Thank u Shaw for ur reply, I guess it's best if he goes talk to malaysian police officer but hes just just worried wat if they send him back. He doesn't need to give police certificate as he already had when he submitted.

Whereas I was asked for a police certificate and I have already applied.. so just hoping it would come soon.
Also they mentioned that when we are submiting documents our file number should be on it ...so is it ok if we write it with pen ourselves?
also I have a very important question for u shaw. Do v have to submit our medical from the country we have applied or we can give it from any country that has Canadian physician panel available? Also if we change our address to another country does it impact our case? like they dont transfer the case to tht country do they? I'm really looking forward for ur opinion....or anyone that has any knowledge of this?

Hey guys, typically how long does it take to get COPR after visa is issued?
My wife's COPR and visa show the exact same date of issuance. And she received them at the same time too; along with her passport of course.

(Then she got her PR card exactly 70 days after landing.)
