i ordered gcms notes, waiting 3 more weeks till receive. Last two gcms didnt show assigning officer. Isnt 28 months the max waiting time for singapore v.o? Im almost 16 months. I thought there is nothing i can do except wait. Are you guys sure i can email them to inquire? Or ask mp for help? I did write a letter to singapore v.o inquiring about my case about a month ago, but got no response. I did however saw 'recommend passed' on my gcms notes.
We are the same situation.

You all please send emails to Singapore Visa Office that you see from discussion forum in Canadavisa.com that Sept 2013 applications are being processed and your applications deserve to be processed before them as a matter of fairness and request them to process it immediately.

why would they care if we email them? Some cases are more straight forward then others, and some have complications. And some Vo officers are not too nice. I would think they just take advantage of the 28 months. I dont think they care too much about fairness. I am currently visiting my wife on my 4th trip to Vietnam since we met. I wrote letter to Singapore vo inquiring about my case with proof ôf my travels about á month ago ánd got no response. Im waiting for my 3rd gcms to arrive. My previous gcms showed 'recommend passed' with no red flags or negative notes. So why am i still waiting while sept 2013 are being processed? Nobody knows how these vo's operate. Regardless, i'd probably try ur suggestion and email them. I hope others have better luck.

Have you tried asking your local MP to check what's going on?

One month since the embassy accepted the package with my wife's visa and no news. Ecas still reads "application received." This seems a bit unusual. I've emailed them (twice) but no answer. Anyone having similar experience? Any suggestions?

Yes I am agree with you ..they don't care about the fairness and I also prafer not to mail singapour office because that might delay ur prossing time for too much desparatness to get entry in canada and that might create doubt in vise officer .so don't mail or contact the singapour visa office.u can apply for GCMS but Singapore office is big no.

We recently rceived the Confirmation Of Permanent Residence document along with visas! This is after applying in Sept 2010, for those curious about timelines.

There are a couple of possible problems, and I'm hoping someone here knows the answers I need.
First off, our new daughter, who is a Canadian Citizen with a valid Canadian passport, does not appear on the COPR as a dependent. Is this a problem? Singapore was advised of her birth and confirmed receipt of her birth certificate and passport sized photos in May of 2011.

Secondly, the cheapest flight from Phuket to Vancouver passes through China. Will my Thai wife and stepson require transit visas or anything similar?

Thanks, and good luck to everyone!

Sent my wife's passport to Singapore today. Went IN PROCESS on February 11, received passport request on February 21 with photos. They did not ask for re-medical or police check. The letter that we received said to allow 30 days for her passport to be returned. Her medical exam from last year expires on April 19.

Hey everyone,

My wife, the sponsor, who is pregnant with our baby is expecting in june. I just received an email from cic which is something like this

Dear Applicant,

This letter refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. You have informed us that the
sponsor is pregnant.
Please provide the following information within sixty (60) days of the birth of your child so that we can
continue processing your application:
 Copy of the child’s birth certificate (listing names of parents), accompanied by a certified
translation if the birth certificate is not in either English or French;
 Three (3) original, passport-size photographs of the child (taken within the last 3 months).
If the child is born outside of Canada, procedures must be followed before the child will be able to travel
to Canada. The applicable procedures depend on whether:
1. The child is eligible for a Canadian citizenship (see Appendix A for instructions on how to apply
for proof of Canadian citizenship and a Canadian passport)
2. The child is not eligible for Canadian citizenship (see Appendix B for instructions on how to add
the child to the sponsorship and application for permanent residence)
To ensure your application can be processed as efficiently as possible, please follow the instructions
carefully.

After this they explained Appendix A and B for these two points. Did anyone receive any letter such as this? I understand this have to be done after the baby is born but isnt the baby gonna be canadian if it born inside canada? Please help me with some of yours expert opinion, I am getting a little stressed. I am waiting for over 17 months for my PPR.

Guys...as you know, we're supposed to send a self addressed envelope when sending our passport to the CIC. Does the envelope have to be PREPAID...?

My wife (the sponsored person - Indonesian) called DHL and FedEx Indonesia, and they said they don't provide prepaid envelopes.

1. What to do then?! Is a self addressed (but not prepaid) envelope sufficient?

2. Which is safer: requesting the CIC to return the passport by courier, or by regular mail?

Fandv, no international courier in Indonesia will offer the service that you need unless you have a corporate/company account created by a company that is properly registered with NPWP/tax numbers. If you or your wife have a company, you can create an account, or a friend can do the same, and then you can get the return mail organised through the company account. What we did is go to a smaller shipping company that ships internationally, which had an account with DHL. They took care of it for us, but it was a major headache and the Singapore embassy did not respond to calls or emails about it. We still hope our stuff comes back okay, but I think this is the best way to go.
