Yes ask him how does he explain being away from wife or husband for 26 months. Don't let him answer cliche. Tel him we want a certain answer. Ask him who are you to stay between two persons to judge whether their love is genuine or not? Ask him why are you playing with people's life for three or four years. Tell him why they don't care about people's feeling and just look at us as some numbers in immigration system.
100% agree with u david..

Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum. Can any of you nice people answer a few of my quarries? I sponsored my wife in Bangladesh on June 19, 2013. Approved as sponsor on July 23rd 2013. File was received at Singapore office July 29, 2013. Status says, 'Application received' and goes on to saying that Medical is received. Shouldn't the status say 'In process' or 'Decision Made'?

Also I made my wife seek a tourist visa in September 9, 2013. She was refused. I am thinking of making her re-apply. Is that a bad idea?

How soon can one expect to get the visa? I saw 'Goodman' was one of the lucky ones to get it in just over a year.
hi nazmus,
its way too early for d status to in process..basically it shows in process few days b4 or after getting re medical req..which seems to b d almost end of processing...n it will show decision made..when ur passport will b silled with visa...n about tourist visa there is a high chances of rejection even though u try again but ya every case is different,u may get lucky...but mostly bangladeshi applicants r unfortunate i guess...

Thanks Akhi. A relative of mine got married last year. Came back and made his wife apply for TRV and was refused. Then he sponsored her in April 2013. And then applied for TRV again with strong supporting documents and she got the visa and have arrived in Canada 4 days ago. I want to know if applying for TRV have any negative affect on the actual PR application. If not I will just keep applying and annoy the life out of them. Just what you need to do to get a job over here. :p

Right on. I think I'll give the SVO a treat of a lifetime. By the way can anyone advise me on how to make a TRV application more reasonable. Basically what the officer wants to know that the person is going to return to the home country at the end of the visit.

Don't try to say you are really attached to each other if you say so officer would think your spouse will not leave Canada because you can not be apart from each other. just say that you missed her or him and it will be a short visit. one important thing is, check the calender to use a long holiday and explain that she/he is going to use this holiday to travel. The period of travel should not be longer than 2 weeks. Let us know of the outcome.

Hmm. Thanks for the advice. On the previous application we failed to show that. by the way another person was suggesting that we need to create an emotional case. Such as the spouse is suffering in depression and so on. Also get a letter from a Psychiatrist and stuff like that.

Hi Nazmus,

Does your spouse have a job or any other commitments back home? Getting a letter from the employer stating your years of service and granted leave for that period of time really helps. Also any investments may be through a bank or savings for a long period of time can proof that she will return home as she has all these commitments.

Has she travelled to any other country before? If she has, and you can proof that she did not over stay her time helps as well.

All the best!! And do let us know if you manage to get it if you apply.. :)

I recently ordered GMCS notes, in the Eligibility section, the Singapore VO wrote a positive summary of our case and ended the note with "Recommend WAV" in bold letters.

Does anyone have an idea what "WAV" would stand for?

If I am to guess then it might be short for 'waver of interview'. But that's just a wild guess.

Congratulations FOrtune89, WAV means waived, so you will not have an interview. Combined with the positive notes of your relationship, your application will likely be fast tracked now that the VO has determined you have no serious red flags and no need for an interview.
