SINGAPORE PCC/COC (Certificate of Clearance)

Hi Friends,

I just phoned SPF to confirm the process of getting SINGAPORE PCC. the person told me the they will send the PCC directly to the requesting authrities (CHC CINGAPORE) as they have changed the policy in 2010 and they donot provide the PCC directly to the person. Is this okay, has anybody done this.

Hi - did you get any response to below? I am not sure of the entire process. I am not a Singaporean citizen. Will I still get a COC from them? Do I need to furnish the fingerprints? The CIC website link is just indicating that I will receive a letter from them that I need to send to SPF authorities along with an application form to apply for my COC. Dont I have to even pay?

Can someone who have done this before please help?

The Link you sent, says you need to be a 'Citizen of Singapore'. What do people who are non-citizens do to get the PCC.

Thanks - I will call them. Though it clearly says it will be only be given to Singapore Citizens. The rule changed a short while back I believe.

Do I have to take finger prints for that? The website is confusing because all these requirements are placed under Citizens section

I wrote them this email - not sure if anyone on this forum has an answer to these questions


Currently I am in Canada and my PR application for Canada is in process for which I will need to apply for COC from Singapore. I had a few questions since I wasnt able to get them clarified on your website

1. It says COC is only issued to citizens of Singapore; however its mandated by Canadian immigration that I furnish the COC from Singapore. In that case - how do I go about applying for a COC?

2. if you do issue the COC to non-singaporean citizens then I assume I do need to send you all documents listed on your website?

a full set of fingerprints taken by a qualified fingerprint official; fingerprints can be taken at the COC office at the time of application for the COC,
a photocopy of your current passport,
two recent passport-size photographs, and
a bank draft in Singapore dollars for the applicable fees payable to ‘Head Criminal Records CID.’ [Please refer to Singapore Police Force (SPF) website for the processing fee.]
3. Can you tell me what is the processing time for this?
4. Will you send the COC to the immigartion authority directly or any addresss I require?

i applied as well and i am not in SG anymore.
U need to fill out the form in the website. must include the letter from embassy that they sent u as proof
must photocopy ur passport first page and the jpage when you forst entered sg.

u must ask from them forms as well . they have 2 forms that you need to fill out it has the number of years you styed to and from,

just to be sure include the stamp in your passport when u last entrred sg as well,,

and for the final part mist go to authorizing body to have an imprint. u use their own (where u live now) singapore do not have any imprint form..

must also give 2 recent passport photo.

and authorization to whoever u can ask to submit in behalf of you..

range differ they ask me 50sgd fee.... u can include payment for postal delivery as well

read the website...

and they process in 10 wrking days.

theywill not give COC unless the embassy already sent you a letter....

this is troublesome in our part bec i myself waited

for 16mos plus and now i have to faster do everything at once...


u have to wait more if they will mail directly to the embassy which adds another 5working days to reach via snail mail...


hope it helps as of now i am waiting for the coc to be given in 10working days time......

and then wait for the embassy to receive it.......

I am interacting with them over email now and they have asked me to send the scanned copy of passport and visa pages. I am waiting for them to accept my "appeal" and then I will send them the fingerprints, fees.

I dont have any specific letter from CIC asking for the COC yet but I just sent them my PNP selection and checklist to prove that they need this. I think that is working.

I have stayed in Singapore for 1 year and today CIC has asked for the PCC from Singapore without sending me appeal form with the mail, Request you to please let me know how did you get the COC from Singapore?

Scan your CIC request, singapore visa and WP and ask them to approve your COC appeal, they will take a few days to confirm back by email. Once you have received this email approval then you can get the finger prints done and send the package by mail to Singapore

I am still waiting for my file transfer so that I can send the request then. The whole process should take a month. 10 days to get appeal approval and 10 days for actual COC
