I would say this is strange after a month of sending your passport. Do you mind sharing how / through which CVAC you submitted ?
Have you checked with the CVAC ?

Someone (nickname Sudar) submitted his passport to SGVO on 24 May and only got his passport/coPR back on 1 Jul

And got his CoPR back around 1 Jul:

So, the turn around time is almost 6 weeks 0_o.

Do you know your VO? Have you done any GCMS?

It might be possible that they are still doing background checks on your application ?

I believe I read an earlier post that NDVO does that , ask for PPR sometimes even before bg is complete.

btw last time i applied for a visit visa, when the passport was ready I received an email like this:

Dear Applicant,

We would like to inform you that your processed decision has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office, on XXXX to the Canada Visa Application Centre.

I submitted on Feb 26th to VFS and got it back on March 11th. If you have upcoming travel, you can write a cover letter explaining the situation and that should expedite the process.

I think the common answer would be "wait and visit this forum" or keep busy with something else.

They don't entertain calls but you can try emailing them
