Signing documents with "electronic signatures"

Adobe Acrobat allows signing documents electronically, and it'd be a lot easier for my wife (i.e. the applicant) to sign her documents that way and then simply email them to me. Has anyone ever done this before? I'm wondering whether or not CIC allows this. It would suck to have them send the application back asking for the forms to be signed by hand.

All I know so far is that CIC requires electronic signatures for their online applications, but there's no mention of whether they're fine with us doing it on paper applications such as the one for family class sponsorship.

When I looked into this almost 3 years ago, it was not accepted by CIC. But who knows now. Best to call them up and find out.
