signature on delivery for mailing application

Hi,
Do I choose signature on delivery for delivery of my application? I am asking this because the mailing address below is a PO Box and I wonder if anybody would be there to actually sign it. Worse, if I choose the signature on delivery option and if there is nobody to sign the package, then the courier company may not deliver package at all and may just return it to me.
What did you guys do? Did you choose the signature on delivery option?

Can you tell me how to verify the opening hours, to be sure that there is someone there to sign and receive the document up to the 31st?
And if UPS would be too late for me, I am going to deliver it via special delivery (UPS Express Critical)

But where have you seen this? I look here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/sydney.asp and dont see such opening hours..

I've just spoken to UPS Express Critical - they can only deliver to NS airport and someone would have to pick it up from there (and that costs around 900$).
FedEX are unable to give me pricing quote for similar Expedited Critical service without an account number (I will get one tomorrow at work and try theirs).

So, if worst comes to worst, I am going to fly there MYSELF, but for that I would still like to see exactly where did you see the opening hours?

LOL, the last thing I want is to come all the way and see a closed door heheh ;D

I will however try to offer the translators and notary a "bonus" for finishing it on the same day (tomorrow), as it would save me a lot of uncertainity and money.

Do a google search on the list of statutory holiday list in Canada, you will see that they are closed on 25th and 26th.

I understand that mate, but where do I see their regular opening hours?
If you were me, would you have purchased a 1600$ tickets, without somehow verifying the office would be open?
Furthermore, starting this weekend, 95% of Canada stops working and goes on holiday vacations.. so even if we find an official table for "opening hours" (which I have not yet found as I posted the link I have) - how do I know the office wont be closed anyway since everyone goes on vacations?

But Government officials would be there, if not the person processing the applications but definitely the person designated to receive applications. Government slows down but does not stop.
so you are going to seriously spend $1600 on flying to canada to deliver the package? Just curious from where will you be flying?

Well, I still would like to see the mentioned opening hours for the Sydney CIO on the official site just to double check.

What I plan to do is one of 3 things:
1) Offer bonus for notary translation done tomorrow on the same day.
2) Check delivery time if my mother brings it with her to Toronto on the 24th, then with FEDEX to the CIO office.
3) Failing number 2 deu to late documents or if delivery date is too close for my peace of mind - yes, I will spend 1600$ (flying from Israel) and deliver it on my own.

Why? Because I would rather spend 1600$ and be 99.9% certain that I am in the quota, my request would not be rejected, and its only a matter of time (approx 2 years due to slow processing time in Tel Aviv Embassy).
Also because I have no way of knowing whether my score of ~350 is enough in the new EE starting on January 1st.

And if I DONT try now, I might live in regrets, thinking what would have been, if I had dared to spend 1600$ and try...

A CIC office in Canada that receives citizenship and immigration applications. There are CPCs in Sydney (Nova Scotia), Mississauga (Ontario) and Vegreville (Alberta). They are not open to the public.

I'm not sure you will be able to walk-in to deliver your application, but it's possible you may be directed to the mail box.

The hours I quoted earlier are the normal Government working time, or in some cases Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.

I know you are looking for a more precise answer, but I've been searching and searching and can't find one for you. I hope your other option will work out and you won't have to fly over here.
